Class Constitution and Patterns!

Last Thursday we had a busy day!  After brainstorming and deciding on our classroom rules on Wednesday, the whole class, including Mrs. Gavalis and Mrs. Carney, signed our Class Constitution.  We are committed to high standards of academic work and behavior in Room A312!  Our constitution will hang in the classroom where we can all see it clearly and remember the rules we came up with together.

We also had our first Think Math! lesson in Chapter 1; we learned about repeating and growing patterns.  Many of us were familiar with repeating patterns (see pictures below for some of our original patterns) - we made repeating patterns with shapes, numbers, real objects, and even sounds!  Growing patterns were new to most of us  - it was hard to think about how numbers grow and shrink, but we will keep practicing!  Check out the Think Math! link at the top of the blog to see more information on repeating and growing patterns!  Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
